Stepantsminda, commonly known as Kazbegi, is a town in the north-eastern Georgia. Its major landmark is a 14th century Gergeti Trinity Church located near the village of Gergeti, at a height of 2170m.
Hiking up Gergeti Trinity Church takes around 1,5 hour and ultimately provides a picturesque view of Georgia’s 3rd highest mountain -Kazbegi. The elevation of Mt Kazbegi is 5033m above sea level.
Gegeti Trinity Church was listed among the world’s most beautiful churches by the Telegraph: “It is possibly the setting, in the green and white Caucasus mountains, below the summit of Mt Kazbegi, that makes Gergeti Trinity Church quite so magnificent.”
